|The 2005 ACT/Keiler Coaching Elite Junior Team
|Le Tour De L'Abitibi
Bill has been coaching competitive Road and Mountain biking for the past 7 years. He is an Expert certified Coach with USA
Cycling. His emphasis is on the development of junior racing in the North East. He has created two Junior cycling club/teams
which has had numerous members go on to, and be competitive in; Regional, Collegiate and International races, such as the
3 days of Somerville, La Tour del Havane del Estes Cuba, La Vuelta A Cuba and Le Tour De L'Abitibi.
Since 1998, Bill has coached juniors and Espoirs who are associated with Mike Fraysse and his America's Cycling Team (ACT)
program. He has served as Head Coach at the USA Cycling North East Regional Camps for the USCF and NORBA, and at the Cuba
selection camp at Mike Fraysse's Sports Resort in Glen Spey, NY. Bill has also been the Head Coach for the ACT Junior Elite
team and the North Atlantic and Eastern Regional selection teams at Le Tour De L'Abitibi in Val D'Or, Canada for the past
five years. Le Tour De L'Abitibi is the largest UCI Junior stage race in the world, often referred to as "The Tour de
France for juniors."
Bill's racing experience covers Road (Men's Cat 3 and Masters 35+), Mountain (Expert) and Cyclocross (Men's B and Masters
35+) racing over the past 12 years. In this time he has had numerous top ten finishes, including some wins in all disciplines.
His most recent coaching success is the creation of a cycling club/team at The Profile School, a public Junior and Senior
High School in Bethlehem, New Hampshire. The teams were rank beginners who, in the time-span of 5 weeks, became competitive
in the regional prep/high school road race series. Bill says he is always amazed at how fast juniors learn and progress in
the sport of cycling. His hope is to have some of these juniors move from the school league races to USCF category races.
Although Bill's emphasis has been on Junior and Espoir cycling, his training methods hold true for all ages and levels
of cyclists. "My goal as a Coach is to give cyclists the tools and instruction necessary to meet their individual goals,
both in racing and recreational cycling."
